Ronald Dale "Ron" Grider

Ronald Dale “Ron" Grider, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Ron was born on June 3, 1943 in Scott County, Indiana to Delmas and Lilly Mae Vest Grider. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years. After his military service, he began his career in Virginia as Account Manager for Central Wholesale. Ron made his way back home to Indiana after his second retirement, where he worked in the automobile industry (Kia).

 Ron was an active man with a love for life. He enjoyed sports, spending time on the golf course, testing his luck on “The Boat”, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He served as a pillar for his loved ones and especially loved being a grandfather. Ron was a selfless man and will be remembered for his perpetual good mood, giving personality, and his humor. He brought countless smiles and belly laughs to all who knew him.

 He was preceded in death by his son, Martin “Marty” Grider (Lisa); his daughter, Melissa “Missi” Cox; and his grandson, Joshua Grider. He is survived by his son, Mark Grider (Melinda); his partner, Kelly Campbell; ten grandchildren, Courtney Fuentes, Kyle Grider (Meagan), Michael Grider, Michelle Hunt (Dustin), Adrea Gream, Lakin Gream, Dylan Grider, Jessica Jones (Devin), William “Billy” Moore (Blair), and Lee Grider (Shannon). He also has twelve great-grandchildren: Malakai, Maylee, Kyla, Heidi, Foster, Norah, Nolan, Harry, Libbie, Wade, Grayson, and Kayce.

Ron's wish was to be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care.
