Ronald Apel "Paps" Foster, Sr., 82, passed away on Wednesday evening, August 3, 2016. He was a United States Army veteran and a retired maintenance mechanic for Harshaw Chemical.
He was born on October 16, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Charles, Sr., and Louise (Apel) Foster. Paps was also preceded in death by his wife, Sue (Phillips) Foster; and brothers, Charles, Jr. "Cecil", Donald, and Harold Foster.
Paps is survived by his wife, Fidelia "Dee" (Walker) Foster; children, Janice Fortney (Stewart), Ronald Foster, Jr. (Dianna), John Foster, and Jo Smith (Dennis); seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
