A native of Jeffersontown KY, Roger Williams was born on September 12, 1920 to Al and Katie Belle Williams. He was the third oldest of nine children. Roger attended the Jeffersontown Colored School. However, he had to leave school early to help support his family.

Roger Williams was a former employee of Plainview Farms, where he was a cottage cheese maker; a position and craft of which he was proud. He was also an active member of the UAW.

Roger was a faith driven person. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown (FBCJ). Bro. Williams served faithfully in the church's choir for nearly 30 years! He also sang in the Brotherhood Chorus. Our Brother was recognized as our church's oldest member (Joined January of 1931.)

He loved to work in his vegetable and flower gardens. He also enjoyed repairing things, watching baseball, and fishing in the Ohio River; which in jest, he called, 'Ole Man River'. As he aged, he began to enjoy watching The Price is Right, Jeopardy, old movies, NFL games, and the fishing channels.

He is survived by his niece Jackie, who cared for him; four grandchildren- Krissi, Phillip, Charles, and Michael; great (great) grandchildren; nieces and nephews; great (great) nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and friends who also affectionately called him Uncle Roger!
