Roger Dale Keen, born on November 7, 1948, in Scottsville, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on November 18, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
For over 30 years, Roger dedicated himself to his work as a letter carrier. His unwavering commitment to his job exemplified his dependable nature and his integrity. However, it was his devotion to his faith that truly defined him. He was a dedicated member of New Cut Road Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher. Roger’s primary goal in life was to share the love of Jesus with everyone he encountered. His joy in singing praise songs filled the air, and two of his favorites—“Come Jesus Come” and “I Can Only Imagine”—captured the spirit of his unwavering belief and the hope he found in his relationship with God.
Roger’s playful spirit was evident even in the most special moments of his life. He was proudly married to Susan for 32 wonderful years. The story of his proposal remains a testament to his humor and heartfelt creativity; he cleverly placed her ring in a fishing lure box and cast it across the living room to her. This playful gesture symbolized the deep connection and laughter they built together throughout their marriage.
Roger took great delight in the simple pleasures of life. He had a profound love for hunting and fishing, finding serenity and joy in the great outdoors. He loved to travel with Susan seeing beautiful sights and God's creation. These hobbies allowed him to connect with Jesus and brought him closer to loved ones who shared those same passions.
As we remember Roger Dale Keen, let us hold close the memories of his warmth, his laughter, and his boundless love for his family and friends. His vibrant spirit will continue to shine through the countless lives he touched, reminding us all of the importance of faith, love, and the simple joys in life. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those he left behind.
