Robert James "Jamie" Windler, 24, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Jamie was a 2004 graduate of Floyd Central High School and a 2008 graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor's Degree in tele-communications. He worked at the Courier-Journal in Louisville and was an aspiring videographer and director.
Jamie was born on March 29, 1986 in Louisville, Kentucky to Roy J. Windler (Nancy) and Linda L. (Ivey) Gainous (Ron). He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard J. Windler; uncle, Jim Andres.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jared Windler and sister, Rachel Gainous, both of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; grandparents, Bob and Ruth Ivey of Greenville, Indiana and Eileen Windler of Fowler, Indiana; great grandmother, Ora Ivey of New Albany; stepgrandparents, Robert and Nancy Gainous of Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina, and Joe Gluck of Cumberland, Kentucky; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and last but not least, his loyal canine companion, Ripley.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Newcomer Funeral Home and on Wednesday, November 24 from 10 AM till 1 PM. His Funeral Service will be at 1 PM in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
