Robert W. Gerhart,Sr. passed on to a greater life peacefully Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He leaves his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly Boulter Gerhart, sons; Robert W. Gerhart,Jr., Nathaniel V. Gerhart III., preceded in death by son, Philip Boulter Gerhart. He also leaves Granddaughters; Elizabeth Gerhart Thompson(Michael), Virginia Buchanan Gerhart(David) and Great Grandchildren; Maggie Gerhart Statham, Jacob and Nathan Singer, Hayden Thompson and Lucus Thompson.
Mr.Gerhart was born September 18, 1931, was an Army Korean Veteran, University of Louisville Graduate, Member of Sons of the Colonial War, Treasurer on Wexford Plantation Board, Director on Hilton Head Board of Realtors, Choir Member St. Luke's Church, Hilton Head Island, Choir Member St. Luke's Church and member of The Brothers of St. Andrew, Anchorage,KY SCORE Member, President of the Hiddon Oaks Subdivision-Louisville,KY.
As a resident of Hilton Head Island for 30 years, Mr.Gerhart developed Bay Club, Prestwick Court and Glenmore Place-Hilton Head Plantation, Ashton Cove, Plantation Business Park, Hamilton Village-Beaufort,SC, Deep Water Cay Club-Bahamas. Mr.Gerhart worked with Charles Fraser and Paul Franks as Broker-in-Charge of Hilton Head Plantation; also, Vice President of Melrose Company when Indigo Run was being developed. Many of the successful real estate agents on and off the island today were intuitively chosen, and supportively mentored by Mr.Gerhart. In 2009 to be near family,the Gerharts moved back to Louisville where they had started their marriage in the 50's. After a five-month battle, he succumbed to pancreatic cancer.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 2, 2014, at 3:00pm, at St.Luke's Episcopal Church, Anchorage,KY with a visitation in the sanctuary at 2:00pm. Reception in the Board Hall to follow interment in the Garden Courtyard.
