Robert Whitaker

Robert "Bob" Kenneth Whitaker, 71, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. He served in United States Navy from September 3, 1959 to September 2, 1963, and served as a YN2 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, was a dedicated police officer from January 1964 to July 1991, and retired as a detective from the Louisville Police Department.

Bob is survived by his wife, Leota; daughter, Deana Coleman; granddaughters, Karli and Madison Coleman; sister, Judy Thompson; brother, Jamie Dugan; and best friends, Glenda and Worden Wilder.

Funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2012, 12:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr., with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington, KY.
