Robert Henry Wiexler, 89 was reunited in Heaven with his loving wife, Jean Lois, on their 69th anniversary Saturday, November 12, 2011.
He was also preceded by his daughter Vickie Baldauf.
Bob was an Armament Crew Chief with 385th Bomb Group of the 8th Army Air Corp serving in England during World War II. He worked for over 35 years to create a lasting memorial to the people that served in the Mighty Eight.
Bob was a 50 year member of the Shively Lodge 951 F & AM, a member of Southeast Christian Church and Kyana Antique Automobile Club. He has been active traveling and enjoying life since retiring as General Superintendent of Ward Engineering after 34 years. He and his wife contributed generously to many charities and arts groups.
He is survived by his brother, C. Kenneth (Mary Lou), sons Robert (Patricia), James (Dorothy), Michael (Diana) and Christopher (Pamela) and his daughter June Mohns (G. William), 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7pm. Expressions may be made to Operation Smile.
