Robert Torsk Andres

Robert Torsk Andres, born on November 10, 1959, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

After completing high school, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting on September 5, 1978, in Richmond, Virginia. His dedication and commitment during his service earned him numerous accolades, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Battle "E," and the Sea Service Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on September 4, 1981, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Robert was known for his adventurous spirit and love for the great outdoors. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and boating, and he often embraced the thrill of riding four-wheelers. A frequent visitor to the gun range, Robert relished spending time engaged in activities that brought him happiness. More than anything, Robert cherished the moments spent with his family and friends, forming bonds that would last a lifetime.

He is survived by a loving family, including his mother, Doris Andres; brothers Albert W. Andres, Jr. and John Andres; niece Adrian Andres; niece Ashley Roberts; nephew Dylan Heflin; nephew John Michael Stienmetz; as well as great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Jacob, Kaylie, Mason, Hadley, Harper, Kennedy, Tyler, Haylee, and Hunter, all of whom will remember him fondly.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Albert W. Andres, Sr., whose influence and guidance shaped his character and values.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bethany Union Cemetery, located at S Eckerty Doolittle Rd, Eckerty, IN 47116.

Robert Torsk Andres will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. His spirit and enthusiasm for life will continue to inspire those he left behind.
