Robert Lee "Bobby" Sorg, 73, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at his home. He was a United States Navy veteran, a founding member of the American Legion Post 42, and a life-time member of the VFW Post 3281 in New Albany. Bobby had a career in both upholstery and bartending.
He was born on September 28, 1944, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Charles and Hazel (Elliot) Sorg. Bobby was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Livers.
Bobby is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Margie (Kern) Sorg; sons, Troy Sorg and Treg Sorg (Nicole); sister, Connie Moon; grandchildren, Trent, Travis, Taylor, Hannah, and Matt; great-grandchildren, Trinity and Kai; and extended family member, Nikki Edmonson and family.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation will follow according to Bobby's wishes, and he will be laid to rest privately at New Albany National Cemetery.
