Robert Sheckells

Robert A. Sheckells, 88, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Evansville, Indiana. He was a member of Heartland Church of the Nazarene in Floyds Knobs, Indiana and attended Faith Nazarene Church in Evansville, Indiana.

Robert was born on May 28, 1925 in Alton, Indiana to the late Albert L. and Hettie M. (Atwood) Sheckells. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann; siblings, Harry Sheckells, Nettie Waggoner, Junie Mae Perkins, Dennis Sheckell, Ernie Sheckell, and Norman Sheckell.

He is survived by his children, Linda Lea Haynes (Bob), Danny Robert Sheckells (Barbara) of Louisville, Kentucky, Mark Steven Sheckells (Marti) of Stuart, Florida, Melody Ann Sheckells of Evansville, Indiana; siblings, Lou Dell Bowden, Doug Sheckell, Amuel Sheckells, Wanda Vetter; grandchildren, Jeffery Sheckells (Karla), Dana Presley (Mike), Hunter Sheckells, Abbie Sheckells; great-grandchildren, Peyton Sheckells, Chandler Sheckells, Preston Sheckells, Madeline Presley, and Parker Presley.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 12 PM on Wednesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at East Cemetery in Leavenworth, Indiana.
