Robert Eugene Poindexter

Robert Eugene Poindexter , 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. Robert was a pastor for Good News Chapel for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and one heck of a man. He loved to be outside working on the farm and always loved spending time with his family. Robert will truly be missed by all of his family and friends.

He was born on August 20, 1934 in Rensselaer, Indiana to Hershel and Dollie (Kerr) Poindexter. He is preceded in death by his Loving Wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Poindexter, Father, Hershel Goodnight Poindexter, and Mother, Dollie Ann Poindexter.

Robert is survived by his loving family, Son, Kevin Poindexter; Step-Daughter, Nora (Kenny) Kaufman; Step-Sons, Robert Wooten and Cody Wooten; Grandchildren, Jason (Sheila) Vandivier, Amie Kaufman, Colt (Michelle) Wooten, Clayton Wooten, Jennifer, Tarah Poindexter, Jacob Wooten, and Jordan Vandivier; Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
