Robert Moschowsky passed away peacefully surrounded by his entire family on June 4, 2021 at the age of 85 at his home in Lanesville, Indiana. His battle with cancer in recent months showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile on his face and love in his heart. He fought bravely and stayed strong until the very end.
Robert is survived by his adoring wife of nearly 60 years, Charlene. He was a dedicated and loving dad to daughter, Daria Moschowsky; son, Gary (Marilyn) Moschowsky; daughter, Cindy Zinkowski; and daughter, Tanya (William) Clarke. He was a proud grandpa to grandsons Robert, Noah, Jason, Jonah, and Tyler and granddaughters Anna, Alex, and Makenna. He had a special place in his heart for his cousin, Karen Kreblosky (Patrick) Dugan. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna (Zawislak) Moschowsky Sr. and his brother, Michael (Dorie) Moschowsky Jr.
Born in Mayfield, Pennsylvania, he was a member and altar boy at St. John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral. A graduate of the Teterboro School of Aeronautics, he became an aircraft mechanic and worked with Pan American World Airways and Delta Airlines for a total of 36 years. He was a proud Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He loved fishing, baseball, gardening, traveling, and listening to music, and most importantly, time spent with his family.
A special thank you goes to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky for their loving care throughout the last 13 years, and especially during his final weeks.
A private service will be held at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery to be celebrated by Father Terence Johnston of St. Michael Orthodox Church of Louisville, Kentucky.
