Robert Earl "Too Tall" Jones, 65, of New Albany, Indiana passed away at his home on Thursday, May 9, 2013.
Robert was born in Hickory, Mississippi on May 5, 1948 to the late Grace & Johnnie Jones. He joined Greater Harvest Baptist Church in 1971 under the leadership of Rev. Edward Perry Sr.
Robert was a loving and devoted father. He leaves to celebrate the passage to peace, his long time companion, Joyce L. Ricketts, who took care of him; daughter, Stephanie Marie Ricketts; son, Charles Robert Gordon; three sisters, Idell Whitehead, Evangelist Minnie Knott & Evangelist Mary Sanders all of New Albany; five brothers, Joseph (Josephine) & Tommie (Lillian) of Louisville, Murphy (Pamela) of New Albany, Donal & James Jones of Louisville; three grandchildren & a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday, May 13, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Westhaven Cemetery in New Albany.
