Robert Jefferson Janes, Sr.

Robert (Bob) Jefferson Janes, Sr., 86, of Louisville, KY, went to be with His Lord and Savior on July 21, 2022.

Bob was born on March 13, 1936 to Ben and Sue Janes in Louisville. After attending Portland Christian Highschool, he began his career as a teenager pumping gas at a Gulf Oil Service Station. By the time he retired, he was an award-winning salesman, and retail marketer for Gulf Oil Corporation. Being a savvy businessman with an entrepreneurial spirit, he took early retirement at 47, and went on to start, and own, other successful business ventures.

He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Wanda Keeton, his three children, Robert J. Janes, Jr., Lisa Janes Yancey (Martin), Julie Weaver Brenia (Paul), his seven grandchildren, Sharaleigh Yancey Fries, Amy Yancey Ingram (Jay), Emily Yancey Coleman (Forrest), Rebekah Yancey Dunn (Hayden), Kelly Weaver May (Billy), Mandy Weaver Gossom (Ryan) and Joseph Weaver, Jr. (Jessica). He is also survived by and lovingly referred to as "Papaw Precious" by his 13 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his twin sisters Marilyn Spencer (Ron) and Carolyn Moore.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-love Joe Weaver, his parents, Ben and Sue Janes, brothers JB Janes (Lou) and Bill Janes (Leah) and sister Joyce Clancy (David).

There will be a memorial and celebration of life service on Wednesday, August 3rd at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 235 Juneau Drive, Middletown, KY. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 5:00 p.m.
