Robert J. "Bob" Deirth, 67, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was a former member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and a huge IU basketball fan.
Bob was born on August 23, 1945 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Robert J. and Effie (Thorp) Deirth. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. Deirth and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Deirth. He is survived by his fiancé, Brenda Robert; sons, Neil and Brian Deirth; grandchildren, Ryian, Sarah, Dalton Briles; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Brianna Briles; and his favorite cat, Smokey.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 2 PM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with entombment to immediately follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
