Robert Heady, 53, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on November 3, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 10, 1968 in Louisville to the late Robert and Virginia Heady. Robert was a 1987 graduate of Waggener High School. He graduated from the University of Louisville Speed School of Engineering in 1992 and was an avid Cardinals fan. Robert was an employee at the Ford Truck Plant for over 20 years. He grew up in Hikes Point, where he met his lifelong friend Greg Lynch and lived with his family. He enjoyed mountain biking, attending concerts (especially as an unofficial member of KISS Army), attending country concerts and many trips to Nashville with his wife, Laura, listening to all kinds of music, taking trips to the beach, and sipping a nice glass of bourbon. He also loved attending UofL and LouCity games with his wife, friends, and youngest daughter. He was always excited to share a great meal with his family, especially wings, burgers, and steak. Robert loved cycling, fixing up his bikes and going on rides with his kids. He loved making people laugh with puns and dad jokes. When he was younger, he would build model cars, and finally got his dream car, a red convertible Mustang. Robert was a coach at Ascension Catholic School for over 18 years, helping lead basketball teams to championships. He especially loved the opportunity to coach his own children and stepchildren in basketball, soccer, volleyball, football, and softball. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved pugs, Nala and Lucy.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Laura Heady; daughter, Cate Heady (Dan); son, Bob Heady; daughter, Anna Heady; step-son, Jacob Norris (Claire); step-daughter, Rachel Norris; sister, Starr Steinbach (Bryon); half sister, Debbie White (Jimmy); half brother, Bill Birk; and many extended family members, close friends, and grand pets
