Robert Benjamin "Ben" Hargrove, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 28th, 2022. Ben is survived by his daughter, Lexi, sons, Brayden and Abel, mother, Susan, sisters, Jessica and Nichole, grandfather, Charles, and longtime companion, Madelon. Ben was predeceased by his daughter, Ruby, and grandmother, Joyce.
Before finding himself in the throes of his struggle, Ben was generous and loyal to those he loved, always placing his family as first priority. He had a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile, bringing cheer and laughter to all in his presence.
Ben, a Louisville native, was an intelligent man with passion for everything he did in life. He held many jobs throughout his time, eventually finding his talent in welding. At the peak of his career, Ben traveled the Midwest working as a Journeyman Pipefitter; his friends and family were very proud of his accomplishments.
Through Donate Life KY, Ben was able to provide lifesaving transplants to people in need. Recipients were successfully matched with his lungs, liver, and kidneys and his pancreas was donated for research. His corneas will restore sight, while tissues, cartilage, and bone will enable reconstructive procedures, such as restoring cleft palates of babies born with affliction. Though we suffer a great loss, many others are given the gift of renewed life.
"Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life." – Albert Einstein
Cremation has been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made in Ben's honor to Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at link below.
