Robert Allen Gibson

Robert "Bob" Allen Gibson, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday,
November 13', 2021.
He was bom on October 5, 1933 in Seattle, Washington to the late Warren Allen Gibson and Cora Wilhemina "Kline" Gibson.
Bob graduated from the University of MO with a BS degree at age 21 and a
commission in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant.
He served as a good will ambassador from the state of MO to India, and put in his
military service time. He served ten years in the Extension Division of the University
of MO where he received his Master's degree. Bob resigned and purchased a hardware
store for 18 years. Wanting his children to have a farm background, he purchased a
181 acre farm at the age of 34.
Bob accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 26 and served faithfully in many roles
for the rest of his life.
He served for 22 years with Team Expansion, a mission organization that focuses on
establishing indigenous churches and Disciple Making Movements among the most
unreached people in the world. Most of those years he was the Asia Field
Coordinator.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Marbeth Gibson and 5 children: Dawn Batteiger of
Colorado Springs, CO; Doug Gibson of Kansas City, MO; Derry Gibson of Osage
Beach, MO; Denton Gibson, Sr. of Marsing, ID; and Dana George of Carthage, MO.
He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: Daesha Willingham, Elisha Batteiger,
Denali Stai, Desiree Batteiger, Cortland Gibson, Bayli Harney, Garrett Gibson, Curby
Gibson, Ciara Martinez, Cheyenne Weiss, Denton Gibson Jr., Danielle Duval, Aaron
George, Morgan George and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his
brother Byron Gibson.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the memorial service at 3:00 pm on Monday,
November 22, 2021 at Chapel In The Woods, 1407 Moser Road Louisville, KY 40299.
The family requests that contributions in Bob's memory be made to Team Expansion,
4112 Old Routt Road, Louisville, KY 40299.
