Robert G. Bostock, 82, of New Albany passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany. A long-time advocate for youth, he was a coach with the Mount Tabor Baseball League for over 30 years.
Bob was born on January 6, 1930 in New Albany to the late Marion A., Sr., and Lillian I. (Dillow) Bostock. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Marion A. Bostock, Jr., and sisters Midge Scribner and Benita Sinex.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Evelyn C. (Lilly) Bostock; children, Nikki King (Wayne) of Jeffersonville, Brenda Halak (Dan) of New Albany, Rick Bostock of Jeffersonville, Linda Haas of New Albany, Doug Bostock (Valerie) of Georgetown, Indiana, and Scott Bostock(Tina) of New Albany; brothers, Marvin, Nobby, Larry Joe, and Dale Bostock; grandchildren, Shelli Brooks (Tim), Kristi McLaughlin (Tim), Tony Halak, Sara and Krista Haas, Doug Bostock, Jr. (Rada), Kayla Petty (Michael), Cheyenne and Savannah Bostock, and Shelbi and Andrew Bostock; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 PM on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial and military honors to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
