Robert "Dean" Bowman

Robert Dean Bowman, 81, of New Albany, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was born on February 1, 1930 in English, Indiana to the late Arthur Lee & Velma Hazel (Walls) Bowman. Robert was a member of Central Christian Church and served as a deacon there. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at E.I. Dupont in Louisville, Kentucky.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan (Crews) Bowman; children, Debbie Horan (Gary) of Louisville, KY, Denise White (Mark) of Nicholasville, KY, Kevin Bowman (Mary Ann) of Carmel, IN, Brent Bowman of Clarksville, IN, & Lori Weldon (John) of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Kim Lasley (Ted), Heather Horan, Kyle Hagedorn (Nikki), Shauna Hagedorn, Janeen Vest (Steve), Krista Hagedorn, Katie Menne (Kevin), Jill Renihan (Robby), Chad, Adam & Cassie Bowman, & Courtney Weldon; great grandchildren, Tyler, Tori, Sam, Carter, Alexis, Brayden, & Katy.

Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Bowman and his granddaughter, Jennifer Shea.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
