Robert Irwin Bruckert, age 91, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 21, 2024. Bob was gregarious, kind and thoughtful with a heart for serving others. He was the primary caretaker of his wife before her passing. Together they enjoyed square dancing and playing bridge with their friends. He loved spending time with his family, and supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their many activities. Bob served as a greeter at his church, sharing his friendly smile with attendees every Sunday, and volunteered at the VA Hospital. Bob was a lifelong UK fan, enjoyed fishing and reading the newspaper, as well as a lover of lemon meringue pie, a quality pair of suspenders and finding a good bargain. Bob served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Born a natural salesman, following the Army he sold vacuums, corrugated boxes, and envelopes - ultimately retiring from Atlantic Envelope Company after several decades of dedicated service. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carol.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Julia Collier (Bruce); and son, Brian Bruckert (Sandra); 5 grandchildren, Brianne, Jory, Lorye, Christopher and Brittany; 2 great-grandchildren, Landry and Witten; and a niece (Myra Jean White); and a host of family and friends.
