Robert Gerald Bowling

Robert Gerald "Jerry" Bowling, 79, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years at Pillsbury in New Albany until his retirement. Jerry was a very active lifetime member of the Pekin Saddle Club and a member of the VFW Post 1693 and held office with the Floyd County Alcohol Board.

He was born on June 21, 1940, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Robert Bowling and Helen (Grundhoefer) Mahoney.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Bowling; children, Debbie Lacey, Gary Bowling, Trena Prall, and Leighsa Grommon; stepchildren, Jeff Gream, Paula Hughes, and James Gream; sister, Bonnie Krutz; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Jerry will be laid to rest with full military honors at New Albany National Cemetery at a later date.

The family requests that contributions in Jerry's memory be made to the VFW Post 1693 Hobart Beach (1919 Grant Line Road, New Albany, IN 47150).
