We regret to announce the passing of Robert Bruce Borders, 85, of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
He was born on April 28, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Borders) Kohler.
He graduated with honors from the University of Michigan. He was a Veteran of both the US Air Force and the Army Reserve. He was an electrician by trade and a member of Local 369 for 65+ years. He retired as an electrician from Ford. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church in Pewee Valley. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. May he be at peace in Heaven with God.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eva Ida Borders. He is also survived by his 9 children; Cindy (Ruben) Santiago, Tom (Joyce) Borders, Lisa (Joe) Farmer, Bruce V. Borders, Angie (Scott) Brown, Greg (Susan) Borders, Barbie (Glenn) Grooms, Becky (Rob) Dempley and Christa Borders. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Bruce (Imee) Huff, Robbie (Amy) Borders, Edward Huff, David (Phoebe) Boyer, Brooke (Shane) Wisecarver, Luke (Kendra) Boyer, Melanie (Jack) Gilbert, Hope Boyer, Ellie Boyer, Alex Borders, Eva Borders, Haley Dempley, Sidney Dempley. He is also survived by his 5 great grandchildren with one on the way; Beau Wisecarver, Lakynn Gilbert, Boone Wisecarver, Rhett Borders, Luke Gilbert and baby Wisecarver.
Visitation will be from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
