Robert Porter Baker

Robert Porter Baker, 58, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Bobby was an outgoing man, who never met a stranger. He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He was the one to call when you needed help fixing things. Bobby was also passionate about music and loved listening to his favorite bands. He passed this love of music on to his children, who have many fond memories of their father's favorite songs.

He was born on May 17, 1965, in New Albany, Indiana, as the youngest son of John and Marjorie (Porter) Baker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Nichol.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Heather (Jacob) Reeder; daughter, Kassee (Xavier) Bernal; son, Christifer Baker; sister, Katherine Rawlings; brothers, Donald (Joy) Nichol, Richard Nichol, and Jack (Lisa) Evans; 4 grandsons; and many other extended family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
