Robert Andres
Robert L. "Boots" Andres, 58, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with family at his side. Boots was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Cardinal Ritter Council #1221. Loved by all, his laughter and devotion to his faith are inspirational to those who knew him.
Boots was born on November 26, 1952 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Ambrose "Boody" Andres and Eva F. (Fisher) Andres Libs. He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Arthur M. Libs; brothers, Larry Andres; Donald and Robert Libs; and brother-in-law, Charles "Ed" Pendleton.
He is survived by his siblings, Carolyn Gehlbach and her husband, Larry, Jo Ann Pendleton, Vernetta Gettelfinger, and Alice Volpert and her husband, Steve; Bruce Andres; Jane Best and her husband, Dave, Pat Hutt and her husband, Frank, Linda Smith and her husband, Dick, and Cathy Boone and her husband, Wayne; Dick Libs and his wife, Betty; sisters-in-law, Retta Kelly, Bev Libs, and Carol Libs; his loving companion, Diana Goulet; and many nieces and nephews.
The family extends gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville and to his many friends of faith for their support and prayers.
The visitation will be from 12 to 8 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with reflection time at 6 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount St. Francis Center of Spirituality (101 St. Anthony Drive, Mt. St. Francis, IN 47146), St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119), or the Sisters of St. Benedict (802 East Tenth Street, Ferdinand, IN 47532).
