Robert A. Biel

Robert Arthur Biel, 70, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014. He retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Bob was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a proud grandfather.

He was born on February 14, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Arthur, Jr. and Ruthelma (Jacobi) Biel. Bob was also preceded in death by his son, Michael A. Biel.

Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 29 years, Rebecca "Becky" (Grant) Biel; sons, Martin A. "Marty" Biel (Cheryl), Matthew A. "Matt" Biel (Jennifer), Adam B. Weaver; sister, Robin A. Peckinpaugh (Jon); grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha Biel, Andrew Weaver; nieces and nephews, Robert, Ashley, Phil, and John Peckinpaugh.

Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 6 PM Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 11 AM. His Funeral Service will take place at noon, Monday, with cremation to follow according to Bob's wishes.
