Rob Purdy

Robert Edward Purdy, 79, passed away on October 18, 2024, in Louisville, KY. Born on November 20, 1944, Robert retired after 33 years at Ford Kentucky Truck plant.

Robert was a proud graduate of Eastern High School and a passionate member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Derby City Classic Thunderbird Club. His love for classic cars was more than just a hobby; it was a significant part of his life that allowed him to connect with others who shared his interests. He (and Heidi) volunteered for Red Cross and worked yearly for the Board of Elections .

He was a devout attendee of Northeast Christian Church, where he found spiritual solace and community. Robert's faith played a vital role in his life.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Heidi Purdy, (who still thinks he's a hunk) their children: Sam Purdy (Dee Dee), Joe Purdy, Kyle Ray (Lara), Lauren Hofstetter (Dan), and Piper Clark (Adam). Robert was a cherished grandfather to Madeline and Ben Hofstetter; Alison and Caroline Clark; and Carmen, Piper, and Gabriela Ray. He is also survived by his sister, Judith Ann Radeker of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Robert will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the joy and humor he brought to his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. Words we use to describe Rob, our Dad, are humble, steady, safe, understanding, upbeat, positive, gentle and loving.

Visitation will be Friday October 25, 2024 from 10:30 am-12:30 pm, followed by a service at 12:30 pm, both at Northeast Christian Church, Student Center-Venue B, 9900 Brownsboro Road Louisville, KY 40241. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Earth Mission by donating at Northeast Christian Church.
