Rita Ann Wendelgast

Rita Ann Wendelgast, 56, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Rita enjoyed shopping and making crafts. She would make a lot of her own clothes over the years. Rita enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She graduated from Moore High School and worked for University of Louisville Hospital in Medical Billing. Rita was a loving and kind person, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was born on July 5, 1965 in Louisville, KY to William and Fredia (Ratliff) Dyer. She is preceded in death by her Mother & Step Father, Fredia (Eugene) Shirley, Father, William Dyer, and Granddaughter, Lyric Darling.

Rita is survived by her loving Husband of 28 years, Kelly Wendelgast, Daughters, Kelli Wendelgast, and Kimberly Benton, Grandchildren, Eugene Darling, Michelle Darling, and Deandre Thomas, Great-Grandson, Lucas Thomas, Brothers, Ronnie (Pamela) Fields, and Robert (Laura) Dyer. Rita also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest Chapel.
