Ricky R. Williams

Ricky R. Williams, affectionately known as "Slick Rick," passed away peacefully at the age 71 on December 26, 2024, in his beloved city of Louisville, Kentucky.

Born on March 10, 1953, Ricky was a cherished son of the late Melvin and Mary (Ford) Williams. He was a devoted father, brother, and friend who brought joy and warmth to those fortunate enough to know him. Ricky was preceded in death by his beloved son, Damon L. Williams, and his siblings: Joyce Buckner, Marilyn Curry, and Keith Williams.

Ricky's legacy is carried on by his adoring family. He is survived by his loving children, Rica R. (Ricco) Hughes, D'Juan C. Williams, and Artarius Horton, who will forever hold his memory dear. His grandchildren—Damon, Raina, Nya, Ian, Elijah, Mariah, and Ricco—and his great-grandson, Bryson, will always remember their grandfather's gentle spirit and infectious laughter. He is also survived by his cherished siblings, Cassandra (Jesse) Williams-Davis, Owen Buckner, and Kelvin Williams, along with his beloved Aunt, Catherine Huguley. Ricky leaves behind a multitude of family and friends who will deeply miss his presence in their lives.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, January 7th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A service celebrating Ricky’s life will follow at 1:00 PM, with burial at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville.
