Rickie Lee Hardesty

Rickie Lee Hardesty, 12 years of age, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023. Rick was a proud member of Parkway Southern Baptist Church. Rick enjoyed working on cars, riding coasters, joking around, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Rick never met a stranger.

He was born on March 22, 1949, in New Albany, Indiana, to Clarice (Wilton) Jenkins and the late Elisha Hardesty. He is preceded in death by his Father, Elisha L. Hardesty; and step father, Bill Jenkins.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Susie Hardesty; children, Richelle (Jim) Meyers, Amanda (Jonathan White) Hardesty, and Chris (Amber) Hardesty; grandchildren, Dean, Raven, Dade, Alexis, Elisha, Ulrich, Isla, Derrick, Amber, Brittany, Michael, Crystal; Mother, Clarice I. Jenkins; siblings, Vickie Jenkins, Ron (Theresa) Hardesty, Don (Cathy) Hardesty, Nicki (Mervin Jr.) Harmon, Mark (Peggy) Lindsey, and Billy Mayfield.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 24, 2023. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on October 24, 2023 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Rick's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
