This journey marked the beginning of a life characterized by resilience, growth, and a profound sense of belonging to those around him.

A proud graduate of Bagley High School in 1990, Richard's pursuit of knowledge led him to the halls of Northwest Tech, where he studied Auto Mechanics from 1991 to 1993. His diverse career trajectory included significant contributions to esteemed organizations such as AMPI, Mastec, Schwans, Pagel activity centre, and Yan Feng, reflecting a work ethic that was both industrious and noble.

Richard was a devoted family man, embodying strength and compassion in every role he undertook. He found joy in the company of his children—Jacob Sletten (Robyn), Brittney Sletten (Chance), Kara Sletten (Kodi), and Joshua Sletten—taking immense pride in their accomplishments and nurturing their dreams. Adding to his legacy, Richard's grandchildren—Carson, Caden, Braelyn, Braxtyn, Brinleigh, Elaina, Olivia, Kinsley, Isabella, Cora, and Aubrielle—were the lights of his life, sparking boundless love and joy within him.

Beloved by all who knew him, Richard was celebrated for his unconditional love and his willingness to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Richard is survived by his cherished siblings: Jacqueline Lee (Cecil), Shannon Bonds, Melissa Sletten, Edward Sletten, Ruby Madden (Pete), and Jean Ann (Eddie). He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom will forever cherish the moments shared with him.

Richard was predeceased by his beloved mother, Patricia Miles Sletten; his father, Lawrence Sletten; and his brother, Dean Sletten. Their memories will forever remain intertwined with the essence of his spirit.
