Richard Shepard, 66, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
He was born on October 20, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama. Richard spent his early years in Shreveport, Louisiana. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served his country during the Vietnam War. Richard was a master carpenter who built buildings all over the United States to include large skyscrapers in Los Angeles and multiple hospitals all over the country. Richard ran a successful businesses and led countless teams as a construction superintendent where he enjoyed teaching the tricks of his trade to the younger generation. He valued passing his knowledge down to his children and they are eternally grateful for that. Richard was defined as hardworking, generous, and well-spoken. His children define their father as loving, compassionate, and always there for them. His grandchildren will remember him as grandpa Richard who gave them lots of sweets.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Clara M. Clark.
Richard is survived by his partner, Melissa Riles; daughter, Jamie M. Tingley (Nathan); son, Michael J. Shepard; siblings, Steven Shepard, Donna McQuary (Steve), Greg Davenport, Denise Merritt (Vic), Debbie Chamberlin (Robert); and grandchildren, Theodore Shepard Tingley and Benjamin Cole Tingley.
A casual service and dinner will be held in Richard's honor at 7439 White Sands Blvd. Navarre Beach, FL on October 8th, 2022 at 4PM.
