Richard Rose, 55, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Richard was a wonderful father, son, brother, friend, and employee.
He loved spending time with his daughter, Haley; girlfriend, Irisa; and playing poker with friends. He enjoyed walking his dog, Willow, and cuddling with his cat, Bella.
Richard was with Humana almost 23 years. Earlier this year, he was nominated for the Apex award, the highest honor within Humana Information Technology.
Richard was born on November 2, 1967, to Arthur S. Rose and Rose Marie Whitmer. He is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Gregory Weightman.
Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Haley Burkland (Nicholas); previously married to Rhonda Rose; sisters, Betty Grieshaber (John) and Lauren Weightman; stepfather, Jesse Whitmer; nephews, Greyson Weightman and Mark Grieshaber (Hannah); niece, Shallon Schmitt (Andrew); great-nephew, Jack Grieshaber; great-niece Annie Grieshaber; girlfriend, Irisa Kubala; and many other family members and close friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Richard's memory be made to Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (https://curefa.org) or Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville (https://louisvillehabitat.org).
