Richard "Rick" Abell

Richard "Rick" Abell, Sr., 61, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019.

He was born on December 2, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph Abell and Edith (Walden ) Timberlake. Rick enjoyed spending his time with his brother Tim hanging out at the shop. He was a talented mechanic and was one of the best alignment men in town. He was a hard worker but made sure to be in bed by 9 PM. Rick enjoyed his bud light and telling past stories about his cars. He also enjoyed going 4 wheeling up in the mountains.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Abell.

Rick is survived by his loving Wife, Sarah Davidson Thomas-Abell, Mother, Edith Jane Timberlake, Sons , Richard Lynn (Megan) Abell, II, Joshua Alan (Cristie) Abell, Israel "Jay" Cornett, Jody "Dody Bird" (Whitney) Abell, Timothy (Kristen ) Abell, Step-Daughters, Montana (Billy) Smith, Kimberly Rae Cornett, Deanna Lynn Throne, Grandchildren, Chassidy Lynn Abell, Jasper Auto Abell, Presley Marie Abell, Camden Anne Abell, Grayson Kay Abell, Kaiya Nichole Smith, Makayla Shawntez Wilson, Davaughn Ali Wilson, Maleeah Simone Wilson, Lukas Ira Peyton, Anna Grace Geekins, Addison Faith Throne, Josiah Glen Throne, Alyssa Nichole Gorman, Alex Levi Gorman, and Daylen Wynn, Sister, Linda Carol Abell, Brothers, Ronnie (Kathy) Abell, Gary (Lorraine) Abell, David (Josephine) Abell, and Tim (Tahnee) Abell, Friends, Eric and Ginny Dalton.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
