Richard Purtlebaugh, 71, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Richard was a truck driver by trade and worked nearly 40 years for Clark Nickles Excavating and Crane.

He was born on September 9, 1951, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Levester Purtlebaugh and Mae (Griffin) Purtlebaugh. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Susie Purtlebaugh and Angel Hawkins.

Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Purtlebaugh and James Wayman; siblings, Linda (Steve) Gabriel, Tawanna (Glen) Thompson, and Levester Purtlebaugh, Jr.; and grandchildren, Katlynn Purtlebaugh and Kenzie Purtlebaugh.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
