Richard Moore

Richard Madison "Dick" Moore, 79, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday morning, November 11, 2010 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg. Dick was a retired machinist at Reynolds Aluminum (Alcoa Company) in Louisville and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Sellersburg.

He was born on January 20, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Madison H. and Irene (Bottorff) Moore. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn Stockton.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gladys I. (Deason) Moore; son, Thomas R. Moore and his wife, Sherri of Charlestown, Indiana; a granddaughter, Annie Elizabeth Moore; and a niece, Sharon Mayes.

His Visitation will be from 3 PM to 7 PM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). The Funeral Service will be 7 PM on Friday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Saturday in Maumee Cemetery at Johnson, Indiana.
