Richard "Dick" McGee, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021.

He was born on March 23, 1946 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Richard and Elsie (Mitchell) McGee. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Blakley and nephew, Matthew McGee.

Dick proudly served our country during the Vietnam War while enlisted in the U.S. Navy. During his enlistment he was stationed in Pearl Harbor and then went on to be station on the USS Bon Homme Richard CV31 Naval Ship. Dick was also a Mason. He worked as a Mechanic for many years; he really enjoyed restoring vintage car interiors. In his spare time, Dick enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his Corvette. Dick will be remembered for so many things, but most of all, he will be remembered for the love and devotion he had for his family; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memory they will all share about him will be the cookouts they had together and a good bourbon toast!

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Etta McGee, children, Teresa (Jimmy) Gardner, Suzette (Kevin) Vincent, Renee (Michael) Tucker, Jamie (Marie) White, Tracy (Larry) Stith, Lynn (David) Rye, and Sean (Danette) Hartman, 37 grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother, Jim (Nancy) McGee and nephew, David (Judy) Gilbert.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home, with burial and military honors to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Dick's memory be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
