Richard "Rick" D. Hargrove, 73, of Louisville, KY has gone fishin'. He passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning October 17, 2023, with his wife by his side. Rick was born August 5, 1950, to the late Ruby N. Houk and Robert Hargrove. After graduating from Valley High School, he joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He enjoyed a long career with Philip Morris, retiring after dedicating 30 years at the Louisville location. Rick was a courageous man, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and devout Christian. When he wasn't busy pulling pranks or caring for his family, Rick most enjoyed his time fishing.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby N. Houk; father, Robert Hargrove; brother, Anthony "Tony" Hargrove; and sister, Victoria "Vickie" Mike.
He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Rebecca "Becky" Hargrove; daughter, Jennifer Bates (Wally); stepdaughters, April Rowland (Jeremy) and Laura Pierce (Jason); and grandchildren: Ricky, Nate, Charlie, Tommy, and Kate.
Cremation was chosen. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 pm at Church 360 located at 2817 Del Rio Place 40220 on Sunday, October 29, 2023, shortly after Sunday morning church service.
Rick's family would like to thank the dedicated Transplant Teams at Jewish and IU Hospitals, and foremost his organ donors, for giving him over a decade of life to enjoy with his loved ones.
