Richard Joseph Bramer, Sr., 84, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Richard retired after a career as a truck driver and following his retirement, went to work at Meijer's in New Albany.
He was born on April 3, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to Henry and Loretta (Huber) Bramer. Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jason Bramer, Billie Jo Gore; and siblings, Rose Mary "Rosie" Stehle, Mary Lucille "Lulu" Wells, Edward Bramer, Cathy Bennett and Betty Jean Beaird.
Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores (Schmeltz) Bramer; children, Connie Croston, Richard Bramer, Jr., William "Billy" Bramer (Cathy); siblings, Mary Laverne Fraley, JoAnn Coomer (Doug), Cindy Fraley (Jimmy); grandchildren, Edward Croston (Taylor), Shelby Hinton Waylon Bramer, Charlize Bramer, Elisabeth Atkins; and great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Kayden, Ryker, Billie Jo and Millie.
Richard's wish was to be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. He will be laid at New Albany National Cemetery, with the date and time to be announced.
