Rhondy "Ron" McGeorge, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this world on January 20, 2025, at the age of 85 in Corydon, Indiana. Born on December 15, 1939, in Lynch, Kentucky. He proudly graduated from Lynch High School in 1957. Ron was a man whose laughter and kindness touched the hearts of many around him.
Throughout his life, Ron dedicated himself to various occupations that showcased both his work ethic and his warm spirit. He spent 13 years with Kroger, contributed 20 years as an insurance agent, and served many years as a delivery driver for VNA. His diverse career reflected his adaptability and commitment to serving others.
Ron was known for his infectious sense of humor; he was always telling jokes, earning him the affectionate title of jokester among friends and family. His lighthearted nature brought smiles to countless faces and created memories that will be cherished by those who knew him.
A man of many passions, Ron enjoyed fishing, tending to his yard, and working in his flower garden with his wife. He was a devoted fan of UK Football and loved to dance. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family and friends, building connections that would last a lifetime.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marion "Dee" McGeorge, along with his son, Mark A. McGeorge, and stepchildren Kristina L. (David) Lauder, Kara M. Hunter, and Nicholas L. (Shellie) Hunter. Ron was a grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 10 great-grandchildren. He shared invaluable bonds with his brother, Truman McGeorge, as well as his sisters-in-law Carole, Mary Jo, and Ann. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, and cousins whose lives he enriched.
Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Mikki R. Keathley, daughter Rhonda M. Cummins, and his first wife, Connie McGeorge. He now joins a beloved circle of family in heaven, including his parents, Arthur and Rose McGeorge, his brothers Roger and Renus McGeorge, and Carter and Paul Howard, and sister Sylvia Jones.
The family invites those who wish to celebrate Ron’s life and legacy to join them for a visitation on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany, Indiana.
Ron McGeorge lived a life full of laughter, love, and cherished memories. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family requests that contributions in "Ron’s" memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
