Rex Jerry Cox,86, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024. Rex was born in Richmond, Virginia, to William and Essie (Sargent) Cox.
He was a proud member of the United States Airforce and a Korean War veteran. Rex was a Ky Colonel, he was a graduate of the University of Louisville and was always furthering his education with night classes. He loved tinkering, working on and fixing things. Rex enjoyed golfing, hunting, collecting guns and hand-crafted knives and listening to Merle Haggard.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Cox; parents, William and Essie Cox; sisters, Mary Jo, Shirley, and Judy; and brothers, John and Marty.
Rex is survived by his loving daughters, Becky Cox and Robin Cox; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family requests that contributions be made in his memory to the Kentucky Office of Veteran Affairs.
