Rev. Robert Nathan "Bob" Phalen, Sr.

Rev. Robert Nathan "Bob" Phalen, Sr. of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 83. Known for his unwavering faith and devotion, Bob loved the Lord with all of his heart and served as a cherished member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Corydon.

Bob was born on August 15, 1941, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Calvin and Pearl (Higgenbotham) Phalen. In addition to his parents, Bob is now reunited with his beloved wife, Ruby (Combs) Phalen, and his brothers, Paul, Calvin and Ralph Phalen, who preceded him in death.

He is remembered fondly by his family, including his children, Robert "JR" Phalen, Jr. (Chris) and Jeanine Metzmeier (Todd); as well as his granddaughters, Roxanne Lippert (Josh) and Samantha Kittinger (Garrett); and his great-grandchildren, Tobias and Lola.

Bob wished for a simple cremation, with arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His family will hold a private celebration of his life, honoring the legacy of love, faith, and kindness he imparted to all who knew him. Rev. Robert Nathan "Bob" Phalen, Sr. will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
