Rev. Louis Edward Henley, 86, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He enjoyed sharing his faith, preaching, speaking, and serving the Lord (II Timothy 4:7-8). Louis was a jack-of-all trades, including ventriloquism, woodworking, jewelry making, painting and drawing, and making cigar box guitars, among many other things. He even did Mom's nails!
He was born on March 25, 1937, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Calvin Henley and Elizabeth (King) Henley. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Janet Frantz, Calvin Henley, and Phillip Henley; grandson, Michael L. Henley, Jr; and son-in-law, Tom Kane.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Deloris Henley; children, Theresa Kane, Wanda (Robert) Mann, Michael (Gloria) Henley, and Serena (Claude) Morris; grandchildren, Thomas Kane, Bobby (Nicole) Mann, Nathan (Veronica) Mann, Rachel Henley, and Andrew (Lacey) Whitaker; and great-grandchildren, Ava Mann, Dominic Mann, Leila Mann, Francesca Mann, Robby Mann, Emily Mann, and Gracie Mann.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (EST). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery in Sellersburg.
