Reginald "Reggie" McLaurine

August 25, 1942 — January 21, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Reginald McLaurine Sr., who departed this life on January 21st, 2025 at the age of 82. Lovingly known as “Reggie,” he was a devoted father, grandfather, companion, Cardinal fan, and child of God. Reggie was a member of Young’s Chapel where he sang in the choir. Then he joined Mt. Horeb Baptist church where he sang in the male chorus for many years. Reggie graduated from Central High school in 1960. Afterwards, he served our country in the United States Army in Germany as a tank driver. Upon returning home, he acquired a job at Ford Motor Company, and retired early from the Ford Truck plant in 1995. Leaving behind a legacy of hard work, planning, boundless knowledge, kindness, and generosity. He was a joy to witness by all who knew him.

Reggie was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Fitzpatrick, father Louis McLaurine, sister, Barbara SanJuaquin, and niece, Sheryl SanJuaquin.

Reggie was a beloved father to Reginald McLaurine, II (Gwen), Ericka Malone Roberts (Brian), Regina Adair (Russell), Lindsey McLaurine, Franadra Northern, Demetrius Allison, and a proud grandfather to Joumeel (Vivian), Jayla (Zaden) Miller, Emry McLaurine, Brian Cole (Melody) Roberts, Alexia Roberts, Justin Roberts, Wallis Adair, Mekaela Adair, Leondre Northern, Deontae Northern, and Zakaiya Northern, and a brother to Steven Northern.

In addition to a host of other family, Reggie leaves behind his beloved life partner, Cecilia Northern, who was a constant source of love, care and companionship. Their love was a beautiful example of what it means to be best friends and soulmates.

Born August 25, 1942, Reggie was a man of faith and devotion to the Lord. Though he was transparent about his struggles at times with his Christian walk, he rose to find strength and comfort in his belief in God. He was known for his dependability, always offering a helping hand to family, friends and anyone in need. His warmth, laughter and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Reggie believed in hard work to prepare for the future, but also took time to have good fun. He enjoyed every day, and strove to build strong relationships with those around him. Reggie lived with a grateful spirit proclaiming “every day was Christmas.”

His values of strength, planning, service, giving and joy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and all whose lives he touched.

He will be missed dearly, but his spirit and the lessons he imparted will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
