Rebecca Ann (Garvin) Smith

Rebecca Ann "Becky" (Garvin) Smith, 61, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the manager of food services for the Silver Creek Middle School, where she loved providing a wonderful meal for the staff and children. In her spare time, she loved competing in dog agility trials with her dog, Titus, and loved trail riding and going to horse shows with her daughter, Kelsey. Becky could also be found attending many festivals and art shows with her family.

Becky was born to the late William E. and Anola J. (James) Garvin in New Albany, Indiana on November 3, 1957.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Thomas Smith; daughters, Cara Bezuska (Alex) and Kelsey Smith; grandson, Malakhi; siblings, Linda Banet (Sammy), Diane Thompson, Bill Garvin (Bev), and Chris Garvin (Kim); and many nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150) with her funeral service taking place at 4:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Becky's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Becky's memory may be made to the New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter (215 West Market Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
