Raymond "Rusty" Wheeler

Raymond "Rusty" Wheeler, 71, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was a faithful Christian man with a great work ethic, always providing for his family and putting others first. Rusty retired from Fabricated Metals/Utility Metals. He was a former member of Memphis Christian Church and Paynesville Christian Church and a current member of Lexington Christian Church. In his younger years, Rusty enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, boating, and waterskiing.

He was born on March 30, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Etta (Scott) Wheeler. Rusty is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy (Hutchins) Wheeler; son, John Raymond Wheeler (Nicole); grandsons, Alexander and Zachary Wheeler; sister, Vickie Wheeler-Byerly; brothers-in-law, David (Martha), Jeffrey (Kathleen), Holt, and Mitchell Hutchins; several nephews and nieces; and his faithful four-legged companion, Betsy.

Rusty's wish was to be cremated. A celebration of his life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Lexington Christian Church (2604 S. Alexander Street, Lexington, IN 47138). In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
