Raymond Joseph Hagedorn, 83, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Raymond was born on September 6, 1929 in Tell City, Indiana to the late John C. & Clara V. (Peter) Hagedorn. He was united in marriage to Mary Augusta Hauser on November 23, 1950 and to this union brought seven children to bless their home. In 1978, Raymond opened Hagedorn Collision Center which he owned and operated. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Knights of Columbus #1221, the K.S.D.A., & the Rebels Square Dance Club.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Augusta Hagedorn; 7 children, Eugene Hagedorn, Joseph Hagedorn (Linda), Roger Hagedorn (Carol Ann), Ronald Hagedorn (Sondra), Debra Huber (Gary), Denise Batliner (Thomas), & Cheryl Pearce (Paul); 1 sister, Agnes Simon; 18 grandchildren; & 4 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Krista Hagedorn; brothers, Clarence, Ervin, Earl, Casper, & Leo Hagedorn; sisters, Mildred Schaefer & Freida Thole; & an infant sister, Eleanor.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 2 to 8 PM on at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany). Entombment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery immediately following the mass.
