Ray Graves, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024. Ray was a loving dad, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family and especially his daughter/bestfriend Samantha and sister JoAnn. He loved to dance so much he did not need a partner and never missed an opportunity to bust a move. When he was young he boxed in the golden gloves and also enjoyed playing basketball. He was an avid UofL Cardinal fan who never missed a game. His extreme generosity and love for everyone will be remembered forever. Ray will always be known for "Don't forget I used to Box" - Ray
He was born on November 12, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to Clyde and Maurice (Newkirk) Graves. He is preceded in death by his Father, Clyde Graves, Sr., Mother, Maurice Newkirk, Brother, Sammy, Ronnie, Clyde, Jr., Larry, Mitch, Sisters, Ann, Linda, Denise, Sharon.
Ray is survived by his loving family, Daughter, Samantha (Darnell) Douglas; Sister, JoAnn Williams, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Bible Community Fellowship Church, (3213 Portland Ave. Louisville, KY 40212). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at Bible Community Fellowship Church with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
