Randall Blake Shelton was born on June 20, 1950 in Paducah, Kentucky, to William Joel and Edith Mae Shelton. He passed away peacefully at his home in Louisville, Kentucky and entered heaven on February 1, 2025. He was 74 years old.
Randy spent most of his life in Paducah, graduating from Paducah Tilghman High School and Paducah Community College. He worked for many years at Illinois Central Gulf Railroad followed by several years at the United States Enrichment Corporation before he enjoyed retirement.
Randy is survived by his wife, Diane Feezor Shelton. They moved from Paducah to Louisville three years ago. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured his family above all else. He is also survived by his daughter, Sarah Faith Shelton Sexton (Scott), of Louisville, Kentucky and his son, Nathaniel Blake Shelton (Andrea), of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. He was the proudest “Gra Gra” to his three grandchildren, who were his greatest joy, Seraphina Sexton, Susannah Sexton, and Clyde Shelton. He will be missed tremendously on this Earth but has left his family with so many happy memories.
Randy had a love for nature and animals and a deep interest in history. He spent many years hunting for Native American artifacts and amassed an impressive collection. He was an accomplished drummer in his earlier years and remained a lifelong music lover. Randy was a loyal friend to those who knew him well. In addition to his parents, Randy was predeceased by one sister, Delores Cuff, and his brother, Kenneth Shelton, all of Paducah. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Rogers, and several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held for his immediate family at home on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 in Louisville with Dr. Rev. Theresa O’Bannon officiating.
